**Job Summary**
The Infection Preventionist is a critical role within Providence, responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with infection prevention policies, practices, and processes across the organization. This position requires a high level of autonomy and expertise in infection control, epidemiology, and public health.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement infection prevention strategies to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure adherence to infection prevention policies and guidelines
- Conduct surveillance and analysis of infection data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention best practices
- Stay up-to-date with current local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations related to infection prevention
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health science field
- Certified in Infection Control within 1 year of hire
- 1 year of Healthcare Experience
- 1 year of Epidemiology Experience
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health science field
- Certified Infection Control upon hire
- 4 years of Healthcare Experience
- 2 years of Epidemiology Experience
