Senior Desktop Engineer

firstPRO, Inc is seeking a skilled Desktop Engineer to oversee the deployment, management, and support of desktop systems for our clients. As a Desktop Engineer, you will utilize your expertise in Intune, SCCM, application packaging, deployments, imaging, and inventory control to enhance desktop environments.
Key Responsibilities- Application Management: Design, create, and manage application packages for deployment using SCCM and Microsoft Intune, ensuring proper configuration and distribution across client environments.
- Desktop Imaging: Develop and maintain desktop images for various operating systems and configurations.
- Deployment and Patch Management: Efficiently deploy these images to both new and existing systems, adhering to client requirements and best practices, and oversee patch management processes, including the deployment and verification of updates.
- Inventory and Reporting: Establish and maintain software and hardware inventory tracking systems, regularly updating databases to ensure accurate and current information, and generate detailed reports on patch status, compliance, and any encountered issues.
- Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients to understand their IT needs and challenges, providing expert advice and support for desktop environment management, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Documentation and Troubleshooting: Create and maintain thorough documentation for processes, configurations, and deployments, ensuring all procedures are clearly documented and accessible for future reference, and diagnose and resolve complex issues related to desktop environments, including hardware, software, and network problems.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in a desktop engineering role, with a strong background in managing and deploying desktop environments using Intune and SCCM.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Intune and SCCM for application management and deployment, experience in creating and deploying desktop images, knowledge of software and hardware inventory management, and ability to generate and interpret patch management reports.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
