Job Summary
Spicer Group is seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineer to join our team. As a Construction Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of municipal and MDOT infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between clients, contractors, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site observations to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Communicate with clients and owners to review shop drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, and generate preliminary estimates.
- Perform office duties such as reviewing certified payrolls, IDR's, and generating pay estimates and contract modifications.
- Familiarity with MDOT specifications, standard plans, and work practices is preferred.
- Conduct material testing for grout inspection, HMA sampling, concrete sampling, aggregate sampling, and mechanical testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- E.I.T. or P.E. certification is a plus.
- Construction inspection experience, preferably in municipal infrastructure, MDOT Road, and Bridge Construction.
- Valid driver's license.
