Position Overview

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing a range of standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic assessments, operating imaging equipment, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conducts standardized radiological examinations using appropriate patient positioning, identification, and exposure techniques.

2. Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of all equipment within the radiology department.

3. Prepares and adjusts immobilization and radiation protection devices as necessary.

4. Evaluates patient characteristics such as body size, age, and physical condition to ensure optimal examination outcomes.

5. Assists physicians during various procedures as required.

6. Reports any equipment malfunctions and identifies the need for repairs or adjustments.

7. Maintains comprehensive records and documentation related to procedures performed.

8. Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities as needed.

9. Engages in the educational development of students and new staff members.

Work Environment

This role is primarily performed in a clinical setting, adhering to all organizational policies and procedures. The specific duties outlined are essential for successful job performance.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Required)

Experience: Relevant experience in the field is preferred.

Certifications: Must be a Certified Radiology Technologist within 24 months through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and possess Basic Life Support Certification.
