Position Overview:

This role involves providing essential patient care and administrative assistance under the guidance of healthcare professionals in various medical settings.

Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate personal care for patients to ensure optimal recovery during their stay. Execute fundamental nursing tasks as assigned by a registered nurse, adhering to established protocols to enhance patient health and wellness. Accurately document and monitor patient information, including vital signs and other relevant metrics. Promptly communicate any changes in patient conditions or abnormal findings to the supervising nurse. Assist patients with hygiene and daily living activities. Support patients in physical activities, including exercise and mobility. Collect and process specimens for laboratory analysis. Maintain comprehensive records of all patient care activities. Aid healthcare professionals during physical assessments and medical procedures. Ensure a safe environment and the secure delivery of care. Continuously monitor for safety hazards and report them immediately. Verify patient identities prior to any intervention. Implement safe patient transfer and positioning techniques. Conduct equipment cleaning and safety checks as instructed. Report any incidents involving patients or staff to the appropriate supervisor using the institution's reporting protocols. Demonstrate understanding of emergency and infection control procedures. Perform various administrative tasks as needed. Manage medical records, including filing and documentation as required. Assist with inventory management and supply ordering. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, which may include scheduling procedures and interacting with patients. Maintain and enhance personal skills and competencies. Achieve proficiency in the use of necessary equipment. Identify personal strengths and areas for professional growth. Complete mandatory training and in-service requirements within specified timeframes. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Compensation: $23.82 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications:

Certified Nursing Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience: Preferred but not required.
Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification through the Virginia Board of Nursing; BLS certification required.

Nurse Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent; completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide program required.
Experience: Preferred but not required.
Licensure: Must obtain CNA certification in Virginia within four months of hire; BLS certification required.

Patient Care Technician:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience: Preferred but not required.
Licensure: BLS certification required; must meet specific criteria for certification as a Nurse Aide in Virginia.

Physical Requirements:
The role necessitates frequent bending and lifting, effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage physical demands associated with patient care. Exposure to various health-related risks may occur.
