Established in 1926, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is a distinguished, non-profit educational and cultural organization that manages one of the most renowned museum complexes globally. Our mission is to ensure that future generations can learn from our past by preserving and restoring the colonial capital of Williamsburg, Virginia, dating back to the 18th century. We aim to engage, inform, and inspire visitors to explore this historic area, the significant events that unfolded here, and the diverse individuals who contributed to the formation of a new nation. Today, Colonial Williamsburg stands as the largest living history museum in the United States, featuring a 301-acre restored colonial capital with 88 original structures and 525 reconstructed buildings, meticulously restored through extensive archaeological, architectural, and documentary research. Our Historic Area is staffed by knowledgeable interpreters and skilled tradespeople, all dressed in period attire, who bring the 18th century to life. The Foundation also oversees two exceptional museums: the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum and the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum, along with a prestigious research library, the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Library. Additionally, Colonial Williamsburg boasts five outstanding accommodations, including the Williamsburg Inn, Williamsburg Lodge Autograph Collection, the Giffin Hotel, the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotels and Suites, and the unique Colonial Houses located within the Historic Area. Guests can also enjoy a variety of dining options at our on-site restaurants and taverns, which offer a historically inspired culinary experience that caters to modern tastes.
Position Overview:
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for opening and closing the bar, providing exceptional beverage service to guests, and assisting waitstaff as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct opening and closing procedures for the bar.
- Deliver bar service to patrons and support waitstaff.
- Perform initial and final inventory counts; order necessary liquor supplies.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age due to legal regulations.
A minimum of one year of bartending experience or completion of a bartending program is required.
Excellent public interaction skills are essential, along with the ability to meet the outlined standards.
Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to lift and move loads up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to bend and stoop as necessary.
