Today, Colonial Williamsburg stands as the largest living history museum in the United States, featuring a 301-acre restored colonial capital with 88 original structures and 525 reconstructed buildings, meticulously recreated through comprehensive archaeological, architectural, and documentary research. Our Historic Area is staffed by skilled interpreters and expert tradespeople, all dressed in period attire, who vividly bring the 18th century to life. The Foundation also oversees two prestigious museums: the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum and the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum, alongside a renowned research library, the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Library. Furthermore, Colonial Williamsburg boasts five exceptional accommodations, including the Williamsburg Inn, Williamsburg Lodge Autograph Collection, the Giffin Hotel, the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotels and Suites, and the unique Colonial Houses located within the Historic Area. Guests can also enjoy a variety of dining experiences at our on-site restaurants and taverns, which blend historically inspired cuisine with contemporary tastes. Each year, over 5 million visitors explore Williamsburg, while an additional 20 million engage with us through digital platforms.
Position Overview:
The bartender is responsible for performing opening and closing duties, ensuring the bar is well-stocked and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional bar service to patrons and waitstaff.
- Conduct beginning and ending inventories; order necessary liquor supplies.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age in accordance with A.B.C. regulations.
A minimum of one year of bartending experience or completion of a bartending program is required.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills are essential.
Ability to accurately handle cash transactions.
Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Moving loads up to 50 lbs.
- Lifting, bending, and stooping.
Note: In compliance with Virginia A.B.C. regulations, Colonial Williamsburg prohibits the employment of individuals in alcohol-serving positions who have been convicted of a felony or any crime involving moral turpitude, or a drug-related offense within the past five years.
