Landscape Maintenance Specialist / Project Coordination Support
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about ecological gardening and landscape maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of hands-on gardening skills and project management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possessing qualifications in botany or ecological restoration is highly advantageous.
- Engaging in a balanced mix of 80% fieldwork and 20% administrative tasks.
- Collaborating closely with the Project Supervisor and Owner on-site to execute physical gardening tasks.
- Providing on-site client services, including planting and garden installations, as well as weeding, for approximately 20-30 hours a week.
- Utilizing Google Calendar for effective scheduling of work tasks.
- Creating plant recommendations for project proposals using Pages on the Mac platform.
- Assisting in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates via Google Spreadsheets/Excel, and transferring data to QuickBooks for client invoicing.
- Helping with the procurement of plants and necessary materials for projects.
- Participating in the layout and planting of flora during installation days.
- Contributing to bed preparation and mulching activities prior to planting.
- Maintaining care for plants in the nursery inventory and gaining knowledge about plants suitable for projects.
- Keeping the online plant inventory updated on Drive and assisting with plant orders for various projects.
- Supporting the management of task lists and priorities through Jobber.
- Engaging in ongoing educational opportunities related to eco-functional gardening, including webinars and conferences from organizations such as Wild Ones and the Ecological Landscape Alliance.
