Overview

The Cath Lab Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily functions and ensuring high-quality patient care by assisting the Manager in supervising, guiding, and mentoring Cath Lab personnel.

This role serves as a model and expert resource for Cath Lab staff, providing support as needed, and participating in personnel actions, staff development, evaluations, and coaching.

Responsibilities
People Management
  • Collaborates with the Cath Lab Manager, staff, and Human Resources to address work-related challenges.
  • Aids in the completion of performance evaluations.
  • Assists in managing the Cath Lab staffing schedule in line with budgetary and target guidelines, proactively reviewing upcoming schedules.
  • Supports the Cath Lab Manager in designing and implementing an orientation program tailored to meet individual employee needs.
  • Promotes a motivating and empowering environment for staff.
  • Works with employees to help them achieve their skill, educational, and performance objectives.
  • Aids staff in developing improvement plans when necessary.
  • Ensures accountability among staff, monitors performance, and provides constructive feedback in real-time.
  • Identifies opportunities for performance enhancement and offers necessary resources and education.
  • Assists the Cath Lab Manager in drafting and delivering employee performance evaluations.
  • Communicates and collaborates with the clinical manager regarding staff performance.
Staff Development
  • Works with the Cath Lab Manager to ensure that staff members receive adequate training and are competent in all required job functions.

Aids the Cath Lab Manager in fostering a learning environment supported by evidence-based practices and research.

Focuses on personal development, engaging in professional interactions with peers and students.

Collaborates with peers and other healthcare professionals, participating in ongoing educational seminars and in-service training.

Contributes to the mentoring and education of colleagues, assisting the Cath Lab Manager in providing training for new services, technologies, medications, and equipment as needed.

Compliance/Safety
  • Responsible for promptly reporting any safety-related incidents using the appropriate tools; attends all safety training programs; performs work safely; monitors the work environment for potential safety issues and ensures compliance among others.
  • Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety, as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Remains informed and compliant with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies relevant to the employee's responsibilities.
  • Ensures all required certifications and licenses are current and valid prior to expiration.
  • Completes all mandatory company training modules and job-specific training within the designated timeframe.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, electronic medical records entries, and patient responses.
Qualifications
Education

BSN is required; alternatively, ARRT is acceptable.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital setting is required, along with team leadership experience in the Catheterization Lab or Cardiovascular field.

Certification & Licensures

RN or ARRT certification is required, along with ACLS (American Heart Association) certification.

REQUIRED: Must be able to physically attend work.
