The Cath Lab Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily activities and ensuring high-quality patient care by assisting the Manager in supervising, guiding, and mentoring Cath Lab personnel.
This role serves as a key resource and role model for Cath Lab staff, providing support as needed, and aiding in personnel matters, staff development, evaluations, and coaching.
ResponsibilitiesPeople Management
- Collaborates with the Cath Lab Manager, staff, and Human Resources to address work-related concerns.
- Aids in the completion of performance assessments.
- Assists in managing the Cath Lab staffing schedule in alignment with budgetary and target requirements, proactively reviewing upcoming schedules.
- Supports the Cath Lab Manager in developing and implementing an orientation program tailored to meet individual employee needs.
- Encourages a motivating and empowering environment for staff.
- Works with employees to help them achieve their skill, educational, and performance objectives.
- Aids staff in creating improvement plans when necessary.
- Ensures accountability among staff, monitors performance, and provides constructive feedback in real-time.
- Identifies areas for performance enhancement and offers necessary resources and training.
- Assists the Cath Lab Manager in preparing and delivering employee performance evaluations.
- Communicates and collaborates with the clinical manager regarding staff performance.
*May occasionally take on patient assignments as needed.
Staff Development- In partnership with the Cath Lab Manager, ensures staff members receive adequate training and are competent in performing all required tasks.
*Supports the Cath Lab Manager in fostering a learning environment grounded in evidence-based practices and research.
*Focuses on personal growth, engaging in professional interactions with colleagues and students.
*Collaborates with peers and other healthcare professionals, participating in ongoing training and educational seminars.
*Involves in mentoring and educating colleagues, assisting the Cath Lab Manager in providing training for new services, technologies, medications, and equipment as needed.
Compliance/Safety- Responsible for promptly reporting any safety incidents using the designated reporting tool; attends all safety training sessions; performs duties safely; monitors the work environment for potential safety hazards and ensures compliance among others.
- Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards impacting patient care and safety, as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Remains informed and compliant with state and federal regulations and company policies relevant to the role.
- Ensures all required certifications and licenses are current and valid prior to expiration.
- Completes all mandatory training modules and job-specific education within the designated timeframe.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, electronic medical records entries, and patient responses.
Education BSN – Required or, in lieu of BSN, ARRT is required. Experience Minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience in a hospital setting – Required.
Leadership experience in a Cath Lab or Cardiovascular setting – Required. Certification & Licensures RN or ARRT – Required.
ACLS (American Heart Association) – Required. CALL
