Overview

The Cath Lab Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily activities and ensuring high-quality patient care by assisting the Manager in supervising, guiding, and mentoring the Cath Lab personnel.

This role serves as a mentor and expert resource for the Cath Lab team, providing support as necessary and participating in personnel actions, staff development, performance evaluation, and coaching.

Responsibilities
People Management
  • Collaborates with the Cath Lab Manager, staff, and Human Resources to address work-related challenges.
  • Aids in the completion of performance assessments.
  • Supports the management of Cath Lab staffing schedules in alignment with budgetary and target requirements, proactively reviewing upcoming schedules.
  • Assists in designing and implementing an orientation program tailored to meet the individual needs of new employees.
  • Promotes a work environment that encourages, nurtures, and empowers staff.
  • Works with employees to facilitate the achievement of their skill, educational, and performance objectives.
  • Aids staff in developing improvement plans when necessary.
  • Ensures accountability among staff, monitors performance, and provides constructive feedback in real-time.
  • Identifies opportunities for performance enhancement and supplies necessary resources and education.
  • Collaborates with the Cath Lab Manager to prepare and deliver employee performance evaluations.
  • Maintains communication with the clinical manager regarding staff performance.
Staff Development
  • Works alongside the Cath Lab Manager to ensure that all staff members receive adequate training and are competent in performing their job responsibilities.

Assists in fostering a learning environment supported by evidence-based practices and research.

Engages in personal development activities and professional interactions with peers and students.

Collaborates with colleagues and other healthcare professionals, participating in ongoing training and educational seminars.

Involves in mentoring and educating peers, assisting the Cath Lab Manager in training for new services, technologies, medications, and equipment as needed.

Compliance/Safety
  • Responsible for promptly reporting any safety-related incidents through the appropriate channels; attends all safety training programs; performs duties safely; monitors the work environment for potential safety concerns and ensures compliance among staff.
  • Adheres to all regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety, as well as hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Keeps up-to-date with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies relevant to the role.
  • Ensures all required certifications and licenses are current and valid prior to expiration.
  • Completes all mandatory training modules and job-specific training within the designated timeframe.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, electronic medical records entries, and patient responses.
Qualifications
Education

BSN is required; alternatively, ARRT certification is acceptable.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital setting is required, along with leadership experience in a Catheterization Lab or Cardiovascular environment.

Certification & Licensures

RN or ARRT certification is required, along with ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.

REQUIRED: Must be able to physically attend work.
