We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Rochester Regional Health. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques
- Select the appropriate phlebotomy site based on patient condition, age, and type of test requested
- Perform finger or heel sticks for micro-samples of capillary blood as required
- Ensure all specimens are properly labeled, accurately documented, and submitted with required information
- Communicate with patient care units, physician offices, or outpatient clinics when specimens are incorrectly identified or submitted
- Transport laboratory specimens from the point of collection to the lab for processing
- Phlebotomy certification
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment and supplies
