Position Overview

As a Breast Imaging Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality mammography services. Your expertise will ensure patient safety and comfort while delivering accurate diagnostic imaging.

Essential Qualifications

Educational Background: Must be a graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program and have completed an approved Mammography Technology training.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support is mandatory.
  • A current or temporary license from the Texas Medical Board (MRT) is required.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) is essential.
  • Registered Mammography Technologist certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M) is necessary.
Experience and Skills:
  • Ability to assist in lifting and maneuvering patients safely.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional care and fostering a culture of compassion and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mammography examinations while adhering to all safety protocols: prepare patients, explain procedures, administer contrast as needed, position patients accurately, select imaging techniques, and ensure high-quality images.
  • Maintain and monitor patient records and data.
  • Perform routine quality assurance checks on mammography equipment and assist with accreditation processes.
  • Report any incidents, complaints, or equipment issues to management promptly.
  • Be available for emergency calls within the department.
  • Ensure safe practices for patients, staff, and visitors, complying with all policies and standards.
  • Encourage professional development by fulfilling continuing education requirements and mentoring junior staff.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements

Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Completion of an accredited Mammography Technology program

Possession of a current or temporary Texas Medical Board (MRT) license

ARRT-R certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist

ARRT-M certification as a Registered Mammography Technologist
