Market Conduct Compliance Specialist

Glencore, a leading global commodities company, is seeking a highly motivated and organized Junior Compliance Officer to support the growth and development of its Market Conduct compliance function.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the Market Conduct Project Manager in delivering a program that mitigates the risks of market abuse and insider dealing, and meets the requirements of the independent monitor. This includes supporting existing projects, coordinating interactions between Glencore and the MIMF (Market Conduct) independent compliance monitor, and fostering positive working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Support existing projects across the Market Conduct Compliance function's advisory, regulatory, and surveillance teams in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Support the successful delivery of the MIMF Monitor's recommendations, including the documentation and tracking of remediation efforts.
- Foster positive working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including the front office, compliance, legal, IT, finance, audit, and other functions and relevant departments.
- Support the testing and documentation of internal controls and processes.
- Support the development and review of governance documents and training materials, as needed.
- Draft reporting and presentation materials, develop and document project plans and internal dependencies, proactively identify project risks and devise contingency plans, leverage appropriate tools to ensure efficiency and drive accountability throughout the team.
- Bachelor's degree (further professional education an advantage)
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a project management or change management role, preferably with exposure to market abuse, surveillance, investigations, compliance, or regulatory matters in a global, geographically diverse corporate environment.
- Organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic team player.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of compliance monitoring, risk assessment, audit, or assurance processes.
- Familiarity with international legal and regulatory frameworks, specifically those related to commodities trading, would be beneficial.
- Experience working in connection with an independent compliance monitorship would be beneficial.
- Experience using project management software (e.g. Monday, Smartsheet, Jira Work Management) preferred.
- Willingness to travel to Glencore's operations to support on-site visits for up to 20% of your time.
This position can expect between $110-150K annual salary. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
