Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Professional to join our team at Fulton County Schools. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support
    • Assist teachers in preparing educational materials for students
    • Work individually with students and/or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives
    • Assist with daily routines, including distributing and collecting supplies, maintaining attendance records, and grading quizzes as assigned
    • Participate in lunchroom, recess, and bus duties
    • Assist with preparing and maintaining bulletin boards and learning centers
  • Media Support
    • Monitor student use of the library and assist students with instructional tasks
    • Assist students and teachers in locating and using media/technology resources
    • Assist with inventory, processing, and preparation of displays, bulletin boards, and media productions
    • Assist in circulation and collection of student mobile devices
    • Generate and maintain reports on overdue and lost books, as well as fines associated with these materials
    • Staff the circulation desk and check media center materials in and out to students and teachers
    • Maintain an orderly and attractive arrangement of media center materials, equipment, and furnishings
    • Participate in required training related to the Dual Immersion Model, if applicable
  • Education and Certification
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Must pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment with a minimum score of 250 within 1 year from Date of Hire
    • Must be able to obtain Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate within 1 year from Date of Hire
  • Experience and Qualifications
    • 0-1 year experience required
    • Classroom experience and/or proven ability to work with children preferred
    • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions quickly and accurately
    • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Technology proficiency (computers, AV, office equipment, etc)
    • Library organization and filing procedure knowledge
    • Proficiency in spoken and written language of instruction, if working in the Dual Immersion program
  • Working Conditions
    • Classroom environment and/or Media Center
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance
    • Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
    • May require lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, or crouching
    • Requires ability to move and control an adult-sized wheelchair
    • Typically sitting, standing, walking
