About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team at Brinkmann Constructors. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, subcontractors, and clients on our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and coordinate safety efforts on our construction projects, including subcontractor safety management and Brinkmann employee safety training.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Investigate and report on all injuries and incidents, and coordinate corrective measures with Brinkmann employees and subcontractor personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related meetings, programs, and inspections, and forward copies to the Safety Director for tracking.
  • Coordinate responses to inspection reports from Brinkmann's insurance company and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct documented project safety and health inspections, and maintain OSHA 300 logs of injuries and illnesses.
  • Implement Brinkmann's Storm Water Pollution and Prevention Plans, and work directly with the Safety Manager, project managers, and superintendents to ensure safety is built into every project.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as occupational health and safety, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing safety efforts on large construction projects, with prior field experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage and administer safety orientations, oversee substance abuse programs, investigate and report on injuries and incidents, and perform other various safety functions on-site.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

The Safety Coordinator's work is primarily performed outdoors in various weather conditions, with some exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud. Moderate physical effort is required, including the ability to walk the job site, climb ladders and scaffolding, lift loads up to 50 lbs., and perform hands-on work when necessary.
