Hospice and Palliative Care Medical Director Opportunity

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a dynamic and committed physician to lead our Hospice and Palliative Care Program at the Martinez VA Medical Center. As a member of the Geriatrics and Extended Care Medical Staff, you will provide clinical oversight and programmatic planning for the 16-bed hospice unit within the Martinez Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Hospice and Palliative Care Program
  • Develop and implement programmatic plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data-driven decision making

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $230,000-$400,000 plus incentives
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including up to 26 days of paid vacation, 13 days of paid sick time, and 11 paid federal holidays
  • Guaranteed salary increases and an annual performance bonus up to $15,000

  • CME: $1,000/year and 5 days of paid absences for CME courses
