Position Overview
The Electrical Field Service Specialist plays a crucial role in resolving compatibility challenges associated with various residential electrical dimmer products in the field.

This position collaborates closely with our sales, engineering, quality assurance, and technical support teams to conduct on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and necessary repairs or replacements.

As a representative of Leviton, maintaining a professional demeanor and positive attitude is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between customers and engineering to address compatibility concerns with electrical products.
  • Rapidly evaluate compatibility issues on-site and relay feedback to engineering for prompt resolution.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify new construction opportunities and proactively test and validate our technology.
  • Produce technical reports following each field visit.
  • Develop a knowledge repository of common compatibility challenges.
  • Foster professional relationships with clients, electrical contractors, distributors, and vendors as a representative of Leviton.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities, with a knack for analyzing problems and applying critical thinking to devise solutions.
  • Comfortable operating in a construction environment.
  • Proficient in working with line voltage (120/240Vac).
  • Able to utilize an oscilloscope and other diagnostic instruments.
  • A versatile, service-oriented approach.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with building codes, compliance standards, and electrical wiring.
  • Ability to function in a highly confidential setting and interpret a variety of instructions in different formats.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education & Experience
A minimum of a High School diploma is required, with experience in the electrical sector. A Technical Associate degree or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology is preferred. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in a field technician role related to electrical products. Experience in electrical wiring installation and prior work on new residential construction sites is advantageous. Customer service or technical sales experience is also a plus.

Travel Requirements
This position requires up to 80% travel and a valid US driver’s license.
