Job Title: Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer

At Arcadis U.S., Inc., we are seeking an experienced Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our team in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the United States. This role will support an expanding portfolio of Energy Transition projects, focusing on Pennsylvania.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead a construction stormwater engineering team, responsible for regulatory agency coordination, client coordination, design/permit development, and compliance. This position requires a candidate to work collaboratively with a diverse team and have the capacity to balance varying priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of engineering designs for permitting or construction purposes, including design drawings, technical specifications, presentations, cost estimates, proposals, land development planning, hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, and earthwork site design.
  • Use strong technical writing and communications skills to develop regulatory permit application packages, technical documents and reports, work plans, memoranda, and other environmental documents to support design/permitting activities.
  • Support the growth of new and existing client relationships in conjunction with business development leaders and account leaders.
  • Conduct field assignments, including assisting in the field with construction, inspections, and participating in face-to-face client, technical, and other stakeholder meetings.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience with Pennsylvania Chapter 102 technical requirements and permitting, including Erosion and Sediment Control General Permit (ESCGP-3), Notice-of-Terminations (NOTs), Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) Analysis, Erosion and Sediment Control Best Management Practices (BMPs), and Stormwater Control BMPs.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer, preferably in Pennsylvania or willingness to obtain via reciprocity, with a minimum of ten years of professional experience in the civil/environmental field.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, or other terrain modeling design software and experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS).
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
  • Experience with Highway Occupancy Permitting with local townships and county agencies.
