Key Responsibilities
- Execute physical sampling, measurement, and temperature assessment of shore tanks using diverse methods as dictated by company protocols and industry standards.
- Calculate and document quantities transferred, ensuring comprehensive reconciliation of the data.
- Complete all necessary reports and documentation with accuracy.
- Collaborate effectively with client representatives, customs officials, vessel crews, government personnel, and shore facility staff to guarantee precise outcomes.
- Maintain consistent communication with office personnel regarding job progress, challenges, and concerns.
- Stay informed and comply with the latest industry practices and client requirements as outlined by AmSpec Group.
- Exhibit dependability and reliability, contributing positively to the department's success.
- Provide mentorship and support in the training of Inspector Trainees.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in alignment with the AmSpec Group's Statement of Integrity.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Petroleum Inspection within the Oil, Gas, and Chemical industries is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and address inquiries from individuals or groups, both internally and externally.
- Basic mathematical skills with a strong understanding of fractions.
- Capability to perform job functions in various conditions, including:
- Working outdoors in adverse weather (rain, heat, cold, etc.).
- Navigating confined spaces.
- Climbing storage tank ladders and stairs, typically ranging from 25 to 65 feet.
- Ascending vessel gangways, stairs, and ladders.
- Lifting up to 75 pounds of samples, equipment, or gear.
- Accurately distinguishing colors by sight.
- Depending on circumstances, may need to use SCBA and/or respirators (training and fit testing will be provided).
- Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the role may require evening, weekend, and holiday work based on client needs.
- Reliable, insured transportation is necessary, with adequate space for equipment.
- All required licenses must remain active and in good standing throughout employment.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple projects with varying deadlines.
- High tolerance for job-related stress and extended hours.
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when necessary.
- Proficiency in synthesizing information from diverse sources into actionable solutions.
- Strong analytical skills, enabling sound recommendations and suggestions.
