Job Summary

NFI Industries is seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Operations Supervisor to oversee the efficient day-to-day operation of our warehouse. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising warehouse personnel, achieving daily production goals, and ensuring the safe and clean operation of the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management
    • Develop and implement shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to ensure effective and efficient operations.
    • Provide direct supervision to warehouse personnel, matching their skills and background to the work required.
    • Supervise all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion.
    • Ensure equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner and coordinate maintenance with management.
    • Review daily work objectives and determine productivity requirements to meet overall building objectives.
    • Partner with other leaders to balance labor and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
    • Draft and submit daily end-of-shift reports.
    • Make recommendations to management on initiatives and programs to improve operations.
  • Employee Relations/Development
    • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to cover previous shifts' productivity, operational problems, forecasting workload, and other pertinent company information.
    • Assist in developing a program to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness.
    • Assist in developing a program for all new personnel and ensure the onboarding program is followed.
    • Manage and maintain good human resources practices with direct reports, adhering to established corporate and department policies and procedures.
    • Work with management and human resources to resolve employee relation issues, discipline actions, problem resolution, and terminations.
    • Provide feedback, coaching, guidance, and recognition to enhance personnel's skill development.
    • Play an active role in employee development and talent selection.
    • Provide regular coaching and constructive feedback on performance, prepare and deliver hourly performance reviews.
    • Maintain accurate timekeeping records.
  • Safety and Security
    • Ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse to meet service standards.
    • Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
    • Follow documented processes for reporting, analyzing, and following up on employee injuries and accidents.
    • Ensure employees complete a daily pre-flight and review daily.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or at least 1-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
  • Experience with seasonal workforces is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with or desire to learn performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse/mechanical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations, and the willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas as necessary.
  • Excellent talent management and team building skills.
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, specifically with external clients.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, may be required in some locations.
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed by the customer.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  • Lift and move totes up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Walking in the distribution center and around the area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length.
  • Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation and access all areas of the building without limitations.
