Position Overview:

The Healthcare Customer Service Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Managing incoming calls and providing accurate information to patients.
  • Processing payments for copays and deductibles efficiently.
  • Coordinating financial arrangements for patients as needed.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Scheduling appointments and notifying clinical staff of urgent cases.
  • Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, documenting information in the medical records.
  • Entering patient demographics into the practice management system with precision.
  • Taking clear messages from healthcare providers and directing them appropriately.
  • Handling a high volume of calls while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Organizing workflow to meet patient needs promptly.
  • Reporting directly to the Office Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of clerical experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cashier procedures, clinic operations, and basic medical terminology is advantageous.
  • 6 months of customer service experience, particularly in a telephone setting, is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential.

Additional Requirements:

This position may involve additional physical demands and requires the ability to manage a high volume of patient interactions. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record if operating a vehicle.
