Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Developmental Disabilities Specialist. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport participants to and from Special Olympics events, utilizing routing software to optimize routes and ensure efficient pickups and drop-offs.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as meals and personal care, and provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Interact effectively with professionals, volunteers, and individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting independence and self-advocacy skills.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to resolve interpersonal conflicts and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all participants.
  • Attend required department meetings and training sessions, and complete documentation paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in the developmental disabilities field preferred, with a focus on community-based supports.
  • Valid American Red Cross or equivalent first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification required.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain van driver training to transport participants.
