About the Role

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled Early Intervention Specialist to join our team. As an Early Intervention Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing services to children with developmental disabilities or delays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Children and Families: Provide support to children and their families with developmental disabilities, mental health or behavioral disorders, etc.
  • Conduct Referrals and Intakes: Conduct referrals, intakes, and screening-related activities to ensure children receive the necessary support.
  • Implement Therapist-Prescribed Interventions: Carry out therapist-prescribed interventions to help children develop positive outcomes and independence.
  • Assist with Physical and Motor Skills Development: Assist with physical and motor skills development to help children reach their full potential.
  • Assess Delays: Assess delays in cognitive, adaptive, social/emotional skills, and communication skills to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide Service Coordination: Provide service coordination activities to ensure children receive the necessary support and services.
  • Work with a Multidisciplinary Team: Work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • Valid State Teaching Certificate: Valid state teaching certificate or early childhood education as required by state regulations and/or contract.
  • Experience: One year experience as an Early Intervention Specialist preferred.
  • Professional Standards: Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Amergis Competency Program: Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • CPR and TB Questionnaire: Current CPR if applicable, TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Health Certificate: Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Federal, State, and Local Requirements: Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • New Hire Training: Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Patient Confidentiality: Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer Proficiency: Computer proficiency required.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
