Job Description

Job Summary:

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients, stakeholders, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide information and assistance to customers regarding Ohio workers' compensation coverage.
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to claims, benefits, and other workers' compensation-related matters.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers, including explaining policies and procedures, and navigating our systems and processes.
  • Research and resolve complex customer issues, and escalate issues to senior staff as needed.
  • Document customer interactions and issues in our system, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve customer issues and improve our services.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes to policies, procedures, and laws related to workers' compensation.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12 months of experience in customer service, public relations, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex customer issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a government agency or non-profit organization.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
