Job Summary
This role plays a vital part in the success of Sun Tan City by guiding a team to deliver and uphold the Sun Tan City Experience for our clientele. The Salon Manager is expected to exercise discretion in overseeing the salon's overall operations. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to supervising and directing staff, making staffing decisions (including hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling), ensuring client satisfaction and service quality, motivating staff to meet performance objectives, addressing minor maintenance concerns, maintaining salon cleanliness, and managing safety and security protocols within the salon. The Salon Manager is accountable for embodying and acting in line with Sun Tan City principles to provide an outstanding client experience.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Coaching and developing team members to deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Promptly addressing client concerns and issues.
  • Consistently demonstrating a positive attitude and calm demeanor during busy periods.
  • Fostering a client-first mentality by holding team members accountable for delivering quality service.
  • Driving company metrics through the development of actionable plans. Actively motivating and guiding the salon team by implementing company initiatives.
  • Managing with integrity and transparency while promoting the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City.
  • Planning, identifying, communicating, and delegating responsibilities to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Overseeing the cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and organization of the salon.
  • Managing staffing levels to ensure employee development and meet operational needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable wage and hour laws for non-exempt team members and minors.
  • Utilizing operational tools to plan for and achieve excellence in salon operations, including labor guidelines, reports, cash management, and inventory oversight.
  • Analyzing financial reports to identify and address trends and issues affecting salon performance.
  • Conducting regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and setting challenging goals to enhance sales performance.
  • Managing ongoing sales initiatives.
  • The Salon Manager is required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week across a 5-day work schedule.
  • The Salon Manager will work a varying number of mid and/or closing shifts each week based on business trends and staffing requirements.
Experience:
  • Preferred college education, though not mandatory.
  • Experience in management and/or sales is required.
  • Basic computer skills (proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to effectively manage in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of client service techniques and operational practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to coach and mentor while being knowledgeable about supervisory practices.
  • Team-building capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend at the waist for cleaning tanning equipment.
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting heavy items.
  • Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels, etc.
  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
