Job Summary
This role is vital to the success of Sun Tan City, as it involves leading a team to cultivate and uphold the Sun Tan City Experience for our clientele. The Salon Manager is expected to exercise discretion in overseeing the salon's overall operations. A significant portion of your responsibilities will include supervising and guiding the staff, making staffing decisions (such as hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling), ensuring client satisfaction, monitoring staff performance, addressing minor maintenance issues, maintaining salon cleanliness, and managing safety and security protocols. The Salon Manager is accountable for embodying and promoting Sun Tan City principles to deliver an outstanding client experience.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Coaching and developing team members to deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Promptly addressing client concerns and issues.
  • Consistently demonstrating a positive attitude and maintaining composure during busy periods.
  • Promoting a client-first mentality by holding team members accountable for delivering quality service.
  • Driving company performance metrics by creating actionable plans and motivating the salon team through company initiatives.
  • Leading with integrity and honesty while fostering the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City.
  • Planning, communicating, and delegating responsibilities to ensure smooth salon operations.
  • Ensuring the salon's cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and organization.
  • Managing staffing levels to support employee development and meet operational needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable wage and hour laws for non-exempt team members.
  • Utilizing operational tools to plan for and achieve excellence in salon operations, including labor guidelines, reports, cash management, and inventory management.
  • Analyzing financial reports to identify trends and address performance issues.
  • Conducting regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and setting challenging goals to enhance sales performance.
  • Overseeing ongoing sales initiatives.
  • The Salon Manager is expected to work a standard 5-day workweek totaling 40 hours (minimum).
  • Availability to work a varying number of mid and/or closing shifts as determined by business needs.
Experience:
  • Preferred college education, but not mandatory.
  • Required management and/or sales experience.
  • Basic computer skills (proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to effectively manage in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of client service techniques and operational practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience in coaching and mentoring, along with knowledge of supervisory practices.
  • Team-building capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to bend at the waist for cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting heavy items.
  • Capacity to bend down to pick up debris and materials from the floor.
  • Ability to perform cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
