Position Summary:
The Metal Fabrication Specialist is tasked with preparing, cutting, shaping, and welding metal using a variety of hand tools and machinery such as band saws, material brakes, and shears. This role provides fabrication support for the garage and shop services teams. The Metal Fabrication Specialist will manage independent project assignments and may collaborate with clients to fulfill their specifications and timelines.

Primary Duties:
  • Fabricate or modify brackets and other components, as well as weld exhaust tubes and bosses.
  • Operate band saws, material brakes, and shears.
  • Read and execute blueprints, rough sketches, or engineering drawings to shape metal according to customer requirements.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of shop equipment by following operational protocols, troubleshooting issues,
performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs.
  • Participate in daily shop organization and cleanliness efforts.
Essential Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 4 years of fabrication experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating power brakes, shears, and bench machines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Welding Technology or a related discipline.
