Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our operating room staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

About the Role:

  • Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
  • Location: Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin
  • Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Surgical Assistance: Provide assistance to surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment as needed.
  2. Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and preparing the surgical site.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot equipment used in the operating room, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  4. Communication: Effectively communicate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure a smooth and efficient procedure.
  5. Patient Safety: Prioritize patient safety and well-being throughout the surgical process, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Certification: Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified First Assistant (CFA)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques
