Company Overview: R&M CONSULTANTS, INC. is a prominent, employee-owned professional services firm based in Alaska, with a legacy of excellence since 1969. Our firm has been integral to numerous significant and technically demanding projects across the state.
Role Overview: We are currently seeking a collaborative Project Engineer to enhance our Surface Transportation Group. The selected candidate will engage in various analysis and design activities related to surface transportation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and initiating technical design concepts and details.
- Conducting studies and recommending design solutions.
- Preparing comprehensive plans, specifications, and cost estimates in line with established design standards.
- Providing technical support during the construction phase, including submittal reviews and site inspections.
- Supervising and mentoring junior engineers, technicians, and interns.
- Coordinating project deliverables with fellow Project Engineers and other R&M disciplines.
Professional Engagement: The successful candidate will represent R&M and actively engage in professional organizations and community initiatives.
Reporting Structure: The Project Engineer will report to a Senior Project Engineer, with daily oversight based on project team organization.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. in Civil Engineering and have 5 to 10 years of relevant civil design experience, particularly in highway and street design. Additional qualifications include:
- Experience in written design analysis, traffic engineering, and drainage design.
- Preparation of final construction bid documents.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Alaska PE license required or the ability to obtain it through reciprocity.
