Role Overview: We are currently seeking a collaborative Project Engineer to enhance our Surface Transportation Group. The selected candidate will engage in various analysis and design activities related to surface transportation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and initiating technical design concepts and details.
  • Conducting studies and recommending design solutions.
  • Preparing comprehensive plans, specifications, and cost estimates in line with established design standards.
  • Providing technical support during the construction phase, including submittal reviews and site inspections.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior engineers, technicians, and interns.
  • Coordinating project deliverables with fellow Project Engineers and other R&M disciplines.

Professional Engagement: The successful candidate will represent R&M and actively engage in professional organizations and community initiatives.

Reporting Structure: The Project Engineer will report to a Senior Project Engineer, with daily oversight based on project team organization.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. in Civil Engineering and have 5 to 10 years of relevant civil design experience, particularly in highway and street design. Additional qualifications include:

  • Experience in written design analysis, traffic engineering, and drainage design.
  • Preparation of final construction bid documents.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Alaska PE license required or the ability to obtain it through reciprocity.
