Patient Care Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Trinity Health West Michigan. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to patient call lights and provide assistance as needed
- Obtain vital signs from patients and report any changes or concerns to the nursing team
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, including showers, oral hygiene, and dressing/undressing
- Transport patients to procedures, transfers, or discharge as needed
- Maintain a clean and uncluttered environment in patient rooms
- Observe patient's condition and progress, and report any concerns to the nursing team
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant, 6 months experience as a Patient Care Assistant or Nurse Technician in an acute care setting, completion of 1 clinical semester in nursing school, or completion of the MHSM PCA training program upon hire
- BCLS certification obtained within one week of hire
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral
- Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives
