Stanford University is seeking a full-time Disability Support Specialist within the Office of Accessible Education. This department is dedicated to ensuring equitable accommodations for students with disabilities across all facets of academic and residential experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Engage directly with students to assess and implement suitable accommodations tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff across the university to facilitate the accommodation process and ensure compliance with institutional policies.
- Provide guidance to students regarding disclosure, disability management, and their rights and responsibilities.
- Work alongside various university stakeholders, including Residential and Dining Services, academic departments, and Institutional Equity and Access, to promote an inclusive environment.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of disability issues among students, staff, and faculty.
- Maintain comprehensive records of student interactions, including communications and documentation.
- Analyze data from student feedback and surveys to inform program development and policy recommendations.
- Assist in the evaluation and revision of policies and procedures to enhance accessibility and inclusion.
- Support the implementation of new technologies that improve service delivery.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with students and colleagues.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Box, and Google Drive.
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion, with the ability to work collaboratively across various cultural backgrounds.
- Flexibility and resilience in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in student affairs or related fields.

Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary. It is a hybrid role, requiring onsite presence a minimum of three days per week.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $69,100 and $95,825 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
