General Overview: The Facilities Maintenance Leader is tasked with ensuring that the facility and all machinery are functioning optimally to produce high-quality products efficiently and timely.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to: Production Manager

Supervises: Maintenance Technicians

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all maintenance and facility operations, including repairs, preventative maintenance, and site enhancements. This may involve direct participation in departmental tasks as necessary.
  • Inform relevant departments about any maintenance work that may impact operations.
  • Plan, supervise, and validate all maintenance activities, both scheduled and unscheduled, ensuring thorough documentation and completion.
  • Collaborate with the Project Engineering Department to identify, plan, and schedule site improvements for proposals to senior management.
  • Prioritize and allocate departmental workloads, including repairs and projects, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Coordinate work schedules with the Plant Manager and Senior Project Engineer to resolve any scheduling conflicts.
  • Direct and oversee the activities of department employees and contractors to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Plan and schedule the acquisition of all necessary equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
  • Work with the Project Engineering Department to implement and maintain the site CMMS system.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and project data for future reference and planning.
  • Review and approve invoices for materials and parts.
  • Ensure compliance with plant policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and safety regulations.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. 3-5 years of maintenance experience is preferred, along with management experience.

Supervisory Duties:

Responsible for instructing, assigning, and reviewing work, as well as planning and coordinating activities within the department. Manage workloads to balance costs and resources effectively.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to exert varying amounts of force to move objects.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Visual acuity for tasks requiring depth perception and color recognition.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperature conditions.
Working Environment:
  • Primarily based in the production area.
  • Must meet frequent deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
  • Direct interaction with employees, technicians, and vendors.
  • Exposure to various operational systems and environments.
Equipment Utilized:

Includes personal computers, forklifts, industrial equipment, and a variety of hand tools.

Financial Oversight:

Responsible for tracking expenses and managing the maintenance budget.

Contacts:

Regular interaction with contractors, employees, and suppliers, as well as occasional communication with regulatory agencies.
