Position Overview

Old Republic Title is in search of a knowledgeable Commercial Underwriting Attorney to enhance our national commercial title division. The ideal candidate should possess a strong enthusiasm for real estate along with exceptional attention to detail. The selected individual will be tasked with underwriting commercial transactions involving single sites, as well as multi-site and multi-state refinancing and sales, while also addressing inquiries from clients and team members regarding ongoing transactions.

* This role requires a hybrid work arrangement; the chosen candidate must be present in the office two days a week at any Old Republic Title location in various states.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine title documents to verify their accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate title issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Draft title commitments, policies, endorsements, and other related documentation.
  • Serve as a point of contact between clients and other involved parties in the transaction.
  • Evaluate title commitments and other related title products.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with internal personnel and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee and track the progress of transactions from initiation to completion.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Juris Doctor degree is required, with licensure preferred in any state.
  • Familiarity with real estate law and title standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.

This position primarily involves sedentary work, which includes sitting, standing, twisting, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving objects.
