Position Overview:

As a Sheet Metal Fabrication Specialist, your primary responsibilities will involve the troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of sheet metal machinery, products, and structures within the Goodyear facility. You will play a crucial role in promoting safety, environmental responsibility, and cleanliness throughout the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, design, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal components, utilizing your knowledge of material properties and machining techniques, while employing hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and product specifications to determine the sequence and methods for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
  • Mark dimensions and reference lines on materials, applying shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop patterns for parts.
  • Set up and operate fabrication machines such as shears, brakes, and presses to cut, bend, and form materials.
  • Shape materials using hand tools, and perform finishing tasks such as trimming, filing, grinding, and smoothing surfaces.
  • Assemble products by welding, soldering, bolting, and using other fastening methods, ensuring compliance with specifications through inspection.
  • Adhere to safety standards, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain consistent attendance as per company policy.
  • Perform various manual tasks in diverse temperature conditions, which may involve lifting, climbing, standing, and working at heights.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks with or without accommodations.
  • Successful completion of all pre-employment contingencies.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Completion of an Apprenticeship Program or formal technical training.
  • Possession of a Journeyman's card.
