Key Responsibilities:
As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for:
- Exhibiting strong time management skills while engaging with patients in person and accurately documenting information in patient registration systems.
- Demonstrating proficiency in navigating various computer systems, including patient registration and accounting platforms, telephone systems, document imaging, payment processing, and proprietary payer websites.
- Possessing a general understanding of patient access processes and financial counseling in both acute and non-acute healthcare settings.
- Having a working knowledge of insurance protocols and medical terminology, along with familiarity with regulations such as the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) and Consent Laws.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience managing administrative tasks with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service.
- A proven track record of accurately verifying documentation.
- Experience in a front office role, including patient check-in and information verification.
- Comfort and proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- A comprehensive understanding of the inpatient/outpatient registration and scheduling processes, as well as hospital operations and their interrelations.
