Position Overview

As a Financial Planning Regional Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate, sustain, and enhance relationships with both new and existing Financial Advisors, Financial Planners, Financial Planning Directors, and their Support Staff.

Role Impact

Collaborating closely with the Regional Director in the assigned territory, you will articulate MassMutual's financial planning methodology and strategic vision to foster growth and success through financial guidance. Your efforts will assist Financial Advisors in establishing an additional revenue stream while ensuring their clients meet their financial objectives through suitable product application.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in proactive daily outreach within your designated region to develop and strengthen relationships with Financial Advisors, Financial Planners, Financial Planning Directors, and Support Staff.
  • Work directly with Advisors in your region to integrate financial planning into their practices.
  • Enhance product implementation rates and productivity through structured planning and sales methodologies, coordinating with various product lines and partners.
  • Advance financial planning initiatives in the region through client acquisition strategies and coaching Advisors on essential marketing activities.
  • Facilitate and conduct virtual training sessions, role plays, and coaching programs.
  • Establish long-term, fee-based financial planning practices that prioritize client experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Series 6 or 7 required at the time of application.
  • Series 63, 65, or 66 at the time of application or must obtain within the first year.
  • 3+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry, Financial Planning, Internal Wholesaling, or as a Financial Advisor.
  • 3+ years of experience in influencing Advisors through both long-term relationship building and short-term analytical work.
  • 3+ years of experience in data collection, case analysis, and strategy execution, along with ongoing planning through a service model.
  • 3+ years of experience with some form of fee-based management.
  • Required Travel: 0 - 15% within the designated territory.
Ideal Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree.
  • Industry designations (e.g., CFP, CLU, CHFC) or currently pursuing such designations.
