Job Summary

At ArchWell Health, we're seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our clinical care team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our primary care physicians and ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care.

As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, and performing routine diagnostic testing. You will also be expected to critically listen and engage with patients throughout their appointment, ensuring their needs and any changes in their condition are reported to the physician and other clinical personnel.

Additionally, you will be responsible for processing patient phone messages, routing calls to other team members as appropriate, and providing health coaching to patients to support healthy lifestyle choices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake with patients, including measuring and recording vital signs, patient interview, and medical history
  • Perform routine diagnostic testing and examinations, ensuring patients are informed and all questions and concerns are addressed
  • Critically listen and engage with patients throughout their appointment, ensuring their needs and any changes in their condition are reported to the physician and other clinical personnel
  • Process patient phone messages, including returning calls and routing calls to other team members as appropriate
  • Provide health coaching to patients to support healthy lifestyle choices
  • Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures under physician supervision
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and maintain accurate, legal, and ethical documentation
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training required
  • A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant
  • 6+ months' phlebotomy experience highly desired
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required
  • EClinical Works or similar EMR experience
  • Experience working with geriatric patients a plus
