Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Projects Manager to join our team at the City of Toledo, OH. As a key member of our Public Service department, you will be responsible for providing managerial, technical, administrative, and supervisory direction and assistance in the operation of our division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, manage, and monitor special projects as assigned by the Director/Commissioner.
  • Provide managerial and administrative direction to professional, technical, maintenance, operational, and support staff involved in permit issuance and inspection programs, engineering services, park, recreation, and forestry administration, maintenance, and operations.
  • Direct and coordinate special projects to ensure implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with governing regulations, specified objectives, priorities, time limitations, and funding conditions.
  • Analyze and prepare new or revised policies, programs, and procedures to ensure efficient operation of the division and to better serve the public.
  • Ensure that assigned responsibilities are in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a closely related area.
  • Four (4) years of administrative and/or engineering experience involving project management, which includes the research, development, administration, and evaluation of major projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a closely related area.
  • Five (5) years of administrative and/or engineering experience involving project management.
