Kokosing, a leading general contractor, is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join its team in the Midwest market.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of civil industrial projects and large-scale utility projects. The successful candidate will ensure that project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and understand project plans and specifications.
  • Follow administrative procedures as outlined in the Project Administration Manual.
  • Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction/safety standards.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of reports, specifications, plans, environmental impact studies, and designs for the project as necessary.
  • Provide contract interpretation and clarification.
  • Maintain and update project schedules.
  • Understand cost and productivity data.
  • Maintain, verify, and report cost and income quantities for work performed.
  • Review, approve, and submit progress billings.
  • Analyze, prepare, and maintain job costs and production budgets.
  • Work with the Superintendent to control job costs and production budgets.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections.
  • Execute and approve subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices.
  • Coordinate, price, and assist the Project Manager in settlement of change orders and claims.
  • Respond to issues quickly and proactively.
  • Manage time and organize office and filing systems efficiently.
  • Maintain subcontractor insurance certificate compliance.
  • Maintain project compliance with underground utility notifications and locations.
  • Promote and participate in 2-week and long-range planning with the job team.
  • Treat all coworkers with respect and work well with subs and suppliers.
  • Consistently apply and enforce Safety Policy at all times.

Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
  • 2+ years of experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer literate with proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing programs, CPM scheduling programs, and Project Management software.
  • Understanding of and experience using cost and productivity data.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with the job team and owners.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
