This position is crucial for ensuring the seamless execution of operations within a deployable Army Service Component Command (ASCC) headquarters, dedicated to ongoing missions in the United States Army Central Command (USCENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Core Responsibilities:

The military operations specialist will be tasked with preparing and facilitating the USARCENT Commanders Update Brief (CUB) across various command posts. This includes ensuring all necessary briefing materials are ready prior to each CUB, Current Operations Synchronization, and Operations & Intelligence Update (O&I). The specialist will analyze, consolidate, and disseminate weekly summaries from subordinate commands and staff, as well as prepare Operation and Intelligence (O&I) communications.

Key duties include:

  • Tracking and reporting Serious Incident Reports (SIR) and Commander's Critical Information Requirements (CCIR) to the Command Group.
  • Monitoring the status of Third Army Exercises, Deployments, and Theater Security Cooperation Events.
  • Receiving and analyzing communications from higher and subordinate commands, identifying issues, and ensuring their resolution.
  • Maintaining awareness of both OCUNUS and CONUS activities that could affect USARCENT operations, force movements, and mission resources.
  • Preparing clear and concise written communications and maintaining constant communication with various operations centers.
  • Performing as the primary interface for USARCENT with component command centers regarding ongoing operations and readiness.
  • Tracking the duty status of the USARCENT Command Group and subordinate commanders.
  • Ensuring timely submission of reports and facilitating daily briefings to enhance coordination and situational awareness.
  • Updating and maintaining the Common Operating Picture (COP) and distributing the USARCENT Situational Report (SITREP).
  • Monitoring communication systems around the clock.
  • Maintaining proficiency in automated and audiovisual systems and administrative procedures.

This role requires a commitment to being onsite and includes the necessity for night and weekend shifts to support a 24/7 Operations Center.

Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 12-16 years of experience within military organizations, with demonstrated expertise in a contractor role supporting government clients.
  • Experience should predominantly be in an operational context, with a preference for personnel who have served at the battalion staff level or higher.
  • Proficiency in producing deliverables in various formats, including Microsoft Office applications and web-enabled formats.
  • An active Secret level clearance is required.
