Physician - Hematology/Oncology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hematology/Oncology Physician to join our team at Ascension St. John Hospital. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with various medical conditions, including cancer and blood disorders.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians and act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses.
- Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
- Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements and appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on-call schedules.
Ascension St. John Hospital is a regional referral teaching hospital founded in 1952. We provide comprehensive accredited training to over 200 resident physicians, 30 fellows, and 56 core medical students in accordance with ACGME requirements. Our hospital is a Level I Trauma Center with a Chest Pain Center and Heart Failure Center accreditation, and we specialize in neuro-endovascular treatments for acute stroke.

About the RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree and be board certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program and an accredited Hematology/Oncology fellowship program is preferred. You must also have a strong interest in teaching and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
