Work Schedule: Full-Time Day & Night Shifts Available (every third weekend requirement); Part-Time, Ministry Float, Weekend Option & Flexible PRN opportunities 1, 2, 3 available

Shift Timing: 7 AM - 7 PM, 7 PM - 7 AM, Variable

Compensation: Starting rate $30.96

Position Overview:

Delivers direct nursing services in accordance with established protocols and guidelines of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Applies medical-surgical nursing standards to enhance patient care quality and overall well-being for patients, families, and significant others by systematically assessing the effectiveness of nursing practices.
  • Builds strong relationships and advocates for patients, families, and significant others to develop tailored care plans that meet individual patient needs.
  • Employs the nursing process to formulate and execute care plans, gather assessment data for each patient, establish appropriate nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, devise care strategies, implement interventions, and evaluate patient results.
  • Creates assessment and management strategies considering the physical, functional, cultural, social, economic, developmental, spiritual, vocational, and leisure aspects of human responses to health issues.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the implications of actual or potential illnesses on each patient's overall status.
  • Utilizes leadership abilities by collaborating with patients, families, significant others, communities, and inter-professional team members to assess needs, set objectives, plan interventions, provide care, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Engages in effective communication with patients, families, significant others, and healthcare providers to ensure culturally sensitive, ethical, legal, holistic, informed, compassionate, and humane care within the limits of available resources.
  • Educates patients, families, and significant others on health promotion, maintenance, and restoration strategies.
  • Cultivates a positive work environment by mentoring and serving as a role model for nursing colleagues and students.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge into medical-surgical nursing, ensuring care is tailored to patients' age-specific and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and operates safely.
  • May conduct point-of-care testing as per established policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensure

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • No prior experience necessary

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regular verbal communication to convey information effectively.
  • Continuous standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Regular sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
  • Frequent visual acuity for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, including color differentiation.
  • Regular olfactory recognition for detecting odors.
  • Regular auditory skills for receiving oral communication and identifying body sounds or alarms.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional patient handling.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements.
  • Occasional driving.
  • Rare crawling and running.
