Position Overview:
This role involves supporting the residential appraisal team by gathering and verifying residential assessment information. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Compensation and Benefits:

Eligibility for Loan Forgiveness:
St. Louis County Government qualifies for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program managed by the Federal Government. Additional information regarding this program is available through official channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field audits of single-family residential properties to confirm assessment records by reviewing, measuring, and updating necessary data.
  • Inspect single-family residential properties where preliminary values suggest an increase of over 15 percent, verifying physical characteristics, conducting valuation assessments, and interviewing property owners on-site.
  • Address inquiries from property owners both in person and via telephone.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience. Employees must remain current with their personal and real property tax payments.

Special Requirements:
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license.

Selection Process:
A selection committee will assess the qualifications of each applicant, which includes the relevance of education and experience, responses to supplemental questions, and reference checks. Only candidates with the most relevant qualifications will be invited for an interview. The interview will constitute 100% of the applicant's evaluation score, with a minimum qualifying score of 70 required for appointment eligibility.
