About the Position

This role is responsible for planning and coordinating meetings and conferences for a professional organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in event planning, logistics, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate small meetings (1-50 attendees) held at the APA building
  • Work with internal teams to manage multiple events annually
  • Select and recommend venues, negotiate contracts, and manage costs
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop RFPs for travel companies, housing, and speaker management software

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of meeting management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with social media platforms

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. The American Psychological Association offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
