Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team in the Department of Neurology and Pediatrics. As an APRN, you will deliver high-quality medical care to a diverse range of patients, working independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive history and physical exams for follow-up patient visits
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic procedures as needed
  • Generate clinical revenue through accurate billing for clinical encounters
  • Provide patient education and participate in patient/family intervention
  • Counsel patients and families regarding quality issues affecting patients with pediatric neurology disorders
  • Respond to medical emergencies as necessary
  • Perform medical procedures with appropriate physician supervision, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule
  • Conduct multidisciplinary discharge planning and coordinate medical authorizations
  • Complete disability forms, insurance medical authorizations, and worker compensation forms
  • Submit billing and complete patient visits report in a timely manner
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Valid State of Florida APRN License
  • Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) through organizations such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a neurology or pediatric setting
