Job Title: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

UHealth Tower is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team in Neurology and Pediatrics. As an APRN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical care to a diverse range of patients, working independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive history and physical exams for follow-up patient visits.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic procedures as necessary.
  • Generate clinical revenue through accurate billing for clinical encounters.
  • Provide patient education and participate in patient/family intervention.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding quality issues affecting patients with pediatric neurology disorders.
  • Respond to medical emergencies as needed.
  • Perform medical procedures with appropriate physician supervision, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary discharge planning, responsible for the plan of care of each patient.
  • Complete disability forms, insurance medical authorizations, and worker compensation forms.
  • Submit billing and complete patient visits report in the EMS in a timely manner.
  • Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
  • Function independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Implement interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability.
  • Assist with the provision of care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Facilitate the patient's transition within and between health care settings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  • Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making by providing educational tools.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Valid State of Florida APRN License.
  • Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) through organizations such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior clinical experience, preferably in a neurology or pediatric setting.
