Job Title: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality medical care to patients with neurological conditions. As a key member of the healthcare team, the APRN will work independently and collaboratively with other professionals to provide comprehensive care, diagnose and treat patients, and develop treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments, including patient history, physical examinations, and neurological evaluations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with neurological conditions such as migraines, neuropathy, tremors, and dizziness.
  • Assist neurologists with procedures such as lumbar punctures, nerve conduction studies, and Botox injections.
  • Perform certain procedures independently, as allowed by state and institutional guidelines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss complex cases and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Implement interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  • Facilitate the patient's transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in relevant field.
  • Valid State of Florida APRN License.
  • Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) through organizations such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior clinical experience, preferably in a neurology setting.
