Our client, a reputable boutique CPA firm, is seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant with 2-4 plus years of public accounting experience to join their team in a remote capacity. As a Tax Accountant, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, including businesses and individuals, to prepare and review tax returns, financial statements, and other accounting-related documents.
Responsibilities:- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review monthly financial statements for business clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Tax Return Preparation: Prepare and review quarterly sales tax and payroll tax returns, as well as business and personal income tax returns, from start to finish, and communicate with clients to ensure their understanding and satisfaction.
- Year-End Tax Planning: Prepare year-end tax projections for clients to facilitate year-end planning and minimize tax liabilities.
- Financial Close: Prepare year-end closings, including adjusting journal entries as necessary, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Client Communication: Address and respond to IRS and state notices, workers' compensation and disability audits, and assist clients with business formation processes.
- Client Follow-Up: Perform periodic follow-up communication with clients to ensure timely receipt of necessary information.
- Education and Experience: Degree in Accounting with 2-4 plus years of public accounting experience.
- Professional Certifications: CPA certification a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, with knowledge and experience with Ultra Tax a plus.
- Soft Skills: Pleasant, friendly attitude, ability to work independently, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with clients and staff in a clear, concise, and non-technical manner.
- Professional Development: Desire to learn and enhance professional knowledge and technical skills.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals.
