Key Responsibilities

Assist the surgical team and surgeon during the peri-operative phase to ensure an optimal surgical experience. Possess a solid understanding of anatomy, surgical instruments, patient safety protocols, and sterile techniques.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program is required. Certification is preferred.

Experience: Gained through educational training and documented on a current skills checklist.

Competencies: Knowledge in Otorhinolaryngology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular procedures.

Job Knowledge: Familiarity with aseptic techniques, surgical procedure orientation, equipment operation and maintenance, and understanding of patient and staff safety guidelines.

Additional Considerations: Ability to respond quickly and accurately; commitment to high-quality patient care; effective communication and collaboration with diverse personnel; physical stamina for standing and walking for extended periods; capability to lift moderate to heavy weights; awareness of potential exposure to cuts, burns, infections, hazardous materials, and x-rays.

Licensure and Certification:

Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additional specialty certifications or training may be required based on the specific work area.

Consideration will be given to education, experience, and tenure along with internal equity when extending job offers.
